Mark Ruse and Stephen Luby, the principals of Ruby Entertainment, have between them nearly 50 years of experience as producers in the Australian Film and Television Industry.
From sketch comedy classics such as Fast Forward and Full Frontal, to landmark television comedy like Kath&Kim and feature film comedy hit Crackerjack, to long running drama series such as ABC’s Bed of Roses, to adaptations of iconic Australian literature such as Shane Maloney’s Murray Whelan comic crime novels, and the recent landmark ABC mini-series of Kate Grenville’s The Secret River, Stephen and Mark have developed, financed and physically made hundreds of hours of popular and acclaimed film and television.
‘The Secret River’ won Logie Awards for Most Outstanding Mini-Series or Telemovie, and Most Outstanding Supporting Actor (Tim Minchin) as well as the Screen Producers Australia Award for Best Mini-Series or Telemovie, the Australian Writers Guild Award for Best Screenplay (Mini-Series or Telemovie) and the Screen Music Award for Best Music for a Mini-Series or Telemovie.
